Self-taught painter MEI Yunnan realized her passion in Chinese painting after her retirement from being a doctor. She lost her own daughter 6 years ago. She almost lost her one eye's sight. But nevertheless, nothing can stop her paint the beautiful world in her mind. She first found painting as a healing process, later found painting became part of her need. She like to share her painting with her friends. She often paints her works on Chinese traditional fans, and presented as gift each time she visits a friend. She need to give others a positive energy through her works.
Her favorite theme is flower blossoms and birds in different compositions. A magnolia or an azalea, the flowers are not just an object, for her, the flower can listen to the birds and to the universe. She often felt that she has dialogue with flowers, “each blossom is a celebration of a new life”.
